God Loves Us 1 John 4:9 —  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten son into the world, that we might love through him.

God loves each and every one of us. He gives us hope when there seems to be no hope. When we feel alone and believe no one loves us, God loves us. When we pray, we’re spending time with God because we are devoted to him. He saved us from our sins and gave us hope of eternal life. Whenever we love someone, we want to spend time with them, get to know them. So Jesus wants us to spend time with him so we can get to know him better.

Christ wants us to talk to him, as we would talk to a friend. By reading His word, we’re able to get to know and love him more. The Bible is God’s love letter to us. Through the Bible, we learn what he wants us to do and say to others, that they might come to know and worship him as well. But guess what? Not only does he love his children, but he loves those who have yet to ask for his precious gift to us. On Valentine’s day, people spend money on those they profess to love. It may be their spouse, parents, children, or just a friend. God gave us a very special gift; his son.

Christ died on the cross so we could spend eternal life with him. God loves you and me. How wonderful it is to know that God loves us. And it sounds so simple, doesn’t it? Guess what? It is that simple. So if it’s that simple, then why do we make it hard? Why can’t we believe that God loves us? Because we’re taught that we have to do something in order for someone to love us. And we’re surprised and rather cautious when someone gives us a gift and says “no strings attached.” We may decide to stop loving someone, but God will never stop loving us. He will never walk away, and he will continue to love us
