School Superintendent Joe Taylor agrees to put the issue on an upcoming workshop agenda.

School Board member Susan Roberts raised the issue of instituting uniforms for students in the county’s public schools; and while Taylor reminded her that the issue had been discussed previously, he agreed to add it to the agenda of an upcoming workshop.

 

Board members did approve the following agenda items at Monday night’s meeting:

 

  •  The Student Handbooks for Kate M. Smith Elementary School; Vernon Elementary School, Roulhac Middle School, Vernon Middle School, Chipley High School and Vernon High School.
  •  The minutes of the June 7 Special Meeting and Workshop; the June 11 Regular Meetings; and the June 28 Special Board Meeting.
  •  Payment of the 2018-19 Small School District Council Consortium Participation Fees and Resolution.
  •  Contract with the Florida Virtual School.
  •  VPK contract with ELC of NW Florida.
  •  Out-of-State travel for the VHS FBLA to attend the Prospect Camp in Troy, Alabama on July 26.
  •  Contract with CIW Academy.
  •   2017-2018 Equity Report to DOE
  •  Revising the Salary Schedule
  • Transfer of teachers for WAVE.
  •  ESY personnel
  •  Instructional personnel recommendation for the 2018-2019 school year.
  •  Employment of Kevin Russell, teacher, at Chipley High School.
  •  Employment recommendation of Leola Brock, guidance counselor, at Chipley High School.
  •  Employment of Jonathan McKinney, teacher, at Kate M. Smith Elementary School.
  •  Leave of absence for Felicia Kirkland, teacher, at Kate M. Smith Elementary School.
  •  Leave of Absence for Tiffany Steverson, teacher, Kate M. Smith Elementary School.
  •  Resignation of Ashlyn Jeffries, paraprofessional, Kate M. Smith Elementary School.
  •  Employment recommendation of Darby Kaye Haddock, guidance counselor, Vernon Elementary School.
