Garret DeChellis, who has over 15 commercial clients and collectors from all over the world, took time out of his busy schedule Thursday to speak at the February meeting of the Washington County Friends of the Library and introduced the members to his work and the two children’s books he and his wife have written.
Describing his portfolio as consisting of symbolism, conceptual, wildlife art, fantasy, science fiction and illustrations for children’s books, Friends president Pat Dickson said his work has been cited and published in bookstores, gaming companies, galleries, magazines, graphic novels, private collections, as well as in the children’s books.
And, she added that he is currently collaborating with an ex-Navy seal to create illustrated short stories about the veteran’s war experience.
Talking to the group, DeChellis shared some of the processes he went through writing a book about his oldest son.
Dickson also reminded Friends’ members of the following upcoming events:
- Fat Tuesday Dinner at the First United Methodist Church in Chipley at 6 p.m. on Feb. 13th
