Council also approves mutual aid agreement between the Chipley Police Department and the Panama City Police Department.

Chipley City Council members voted Tuesday night to allow the Washington County Historical Society to salvage some of the wood from the old ice house in Chipley before the structure is demolished.  Reacting to a letter from Historical Society President Dorothy Odom, council members voted 4-0 to permit the Historical Society to use the wood in connection with the museum by the Amtrak station in Chipley.

 

Council members also took the following actions at Monday night’s meeting:

 

  •  Approved the mutual aid agreement with Panama City Police Department.  This deals with multi-jurisdictional law enforcement problems to protect the public peace and safety and preserve the lives and property of the people.
  • Reappointed Kevin Russell, Suzan Gage and Barbara James to the Code Enforcement Board, with their terms expiring in 2020.
  • Appointed Tamara Donjuan and Crystal Zuraff to the Code Enforcement Board, with their terms expiring in 2021.
  • Reappointed Holland Kent to the Planning & Zoning Board, with his term expiring in 221.
  • Approved a Speical Event application for an Easter Egg Hunt to be held March 28th at Shiver’s Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Appointed Darlene Harper and Damien Potter to the Citizens Advisory Task Force (CATF).
  • Approved moving ahead with plans for a 4th of July fireworks display.
  • Approved amending the City’s current agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
