The Hayes are renovating the old Holley offices located at 1282 Church Avenue in Chipley and had applied for $24,000 in facade grant funding to upgrade the exterior of the structure while maintaining the historical elegance of the building. The location of the property is in a high visibility area near the intersection of SR 77 and Church Avenue with a high traffic pattern.
The Hayes said the building is over 87 years old and is historically significant due to the prominent use of the building over the years as a doctor’s office.
Included in the planned exterior upgrades will bring the structure into compliance with current ADA requirements.
The grants awarded for electrical work will be used to bring the building into compliance with current code requirements. The Hayes said the upgrades will make the entire neighborhood in a much safer position when it comes to the possibility of fire.
