MARIANNA—Four Chipola Lady Indians were named to the Panhandle All-Conference team.
Courtajia Sanders was named Freshman of the Year. She averaged 13.2 points per game and scored 357 points on the season. She averaged 4.6 rebounds per game and played in 27 contests. She also led the team in blocks with 18.
Sanders was also named to the First Team All-Panhandle list along with teammate Valerie Nestbitt who had 50 steals on the season and averaged 10.5 points per game. Both are freshmen and the coaching staff looks for big things from them next season.
Namiko Adams and Tyra Johnson were named Second Team All-Panhandle. Adams led the team in steals with 51 and averaged 8.7 points per game. Johnson led the Lady Indians in scoring from behind the arc, knocking down 34% of her shots off of 182 attempts. She also shot an impressive 88% from the free-throw line. Johnson averaged 11.1 points per game and scored 301 points on the
The Lady Indians scored big 58-49 over Northwest Florida on Feb. 17 before a sold-out crowd. Tyra Johnson led with 19 points and 5 steals. Naomi House had 11 points. Chipola suffered a 69-65 loss to Gulf Coast on Feb. 24. Courtajia Sanders led Chipola with 21 points. Valerie Nesbitt had 18 points. Tyra Johnson scored 11.
Chipola honored the following sophomore players on Feb. 24: Nana Sule, Endia Jones, Naomi House, Kiana Coomber and Lawrencia Moten.
