TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 10, 2018) – Alex Stobert and Jake Kinney combined on a four-hitter in Tallahassee Community College’s 6-3 win over Chipola College in game one of Saturday’s Panhandle Conference doubleheader.

The Indians won game two, 5-1, to earn the split and clinch the four-game series against the Eagles (3-1).

After losing on Wednesday and Thursday in Marianna, Tallahassee needed a win on Saturday and Stobert delivered, allowing four hits, three runs and one walk over six innings. Jake Kinney came on to pitch a 1-2-3 seventh to record the save.

Trailing 2-1, Tallahassee tied the game in the fourth on Trey Polewski’s single and surged in front an inning later with a four-run outburst.

Tanner Thomas’ double scored Mason Miller with the go-ahead run, and Tucker Rayburn drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Thomas with what proved to be the winning run.

Tallahassee managed just six hits but also took advantage of six walks issued by Chipola pitchers.

Polewski was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

In game two, Chipola opened the scoring with a run in the first then put the game away with a four-run fourth.

Tallahassee avoided the shutout when Rayburn singled home Cole Vann in the bottom of the seventh.

The Eagles had just five hits in the nightcap.

Tallahassee pitchers struck out 14 batters in game two – seven each by starter Logan Lacey and Tyler Lehrmann.

Tallahassee will open its next series on Tuesday when it travels to Gulf Coast State College for a 6 p.m. eastern game with the Commodores.
