· Men’s Basketball: The Indians finished runner-up in the Region VIII/FCSAA State championship after falling to Northwest Florida State in Saturday’s championship game (recap: http://bit.ly/2Fozwpz). Many projected that Chipola would receive an at-large bid to the National Tournament, however, that was not the case in today’s selection. The Indians finish their season 22-8 overall, winning five out of their last six. Three players were named to the All-Tournament team:

o Brandon Mahan

o Shamarkus Kennedy

o JJ Miles

· Chipola Women’s Basketball: Women’s basketball player Nana Sule (shown at right) was named the Sandy Miller Academic Award winner, which is given to the women’s basketball player with the highest GPA in the state. Nana has a 3.9 and a wonderful student-athlete on and off the court. Congratulations to Nana!

· Softball: The Chipola softball team is still undefeated and ranked #1 in the country! They will open conference play this week on Tuesday at Northwest Florida State (doubleheader beginning at 4 PM CST). They will also play a doubleheader at home on Saturday vs. Pensacola State at 1 PM CST.

· Chipola Baseball is ranked #3 nationally. They have the conference bye this week and will travel to Broward College for games this weekend. Next week, they’ll head to Pensacola State for games on Tuesday and Thursday and then host the Pirates for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 24 starting at 1 PM CST.
