The Holmes County, Florida Chamber of Commerce staff executed yet another successful fundraiser on Friday, March 16, 2018, as several local golfers participated in a golf tournament at Dogwood Lakes Golf Course in Bonifay, as seen in these photos by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
Washington County Commission Chairman Tray Hawkins put together a team, hosted by Waste Management, and inclusive of fellow Commissioners Todd Abbott and Charles Kent, along with Judge Colby Peel.
Skies were sunny with clouds with a prevailing wind as the teams commenced with a shotgun start at 1PM, just one in a series of golf tournaments slated for the Spring season here in Northwest Florida.
‘We are working hard to represent Washington County to the best of our ability’, said Hawkins, readying his golf cart on Friday morning. ‘We have challenges and opportunities, and we are making the best of both as we work with our neighboring counties, such as right here in Holmes County’.
Topic of the day was the ‘Highway 79 Project’, recently receiving funding and of import to the City of Bonifay as well as Holmes and Washington County.
‘This is one of those projects which helps demonstrate that we are able and willing to work with our neighbors’, said Hawkins, ‘and just as high tide floats all boats, this project will benefit all three entities as well as the entire region’.
‘We commend Holmes County on this successful tournament and appreciate all the hard work extended on behalf of this great cause’, Hawkins finished.
