Newly-Formed Jackson County Economic Development Committee Seeks Aggressive Executive Director To Kick Start Economy in Jackson County

‘We’ve been stagnant way too long here in Jackson County’, said Mickey Gilmore, Chairman of the newly formed Jackson County Economic Development Committee, as the organizations starts a recruitment effort to find an Executive Director.

‘We’ve got so much going for us with our interstate, our railroads, and a quality education system.  There is no reason why Jackson County can’t be a leader in job creation for Northwest Florida, and I’m glad we’ve got an active board with members that are truly willing to work hard to help everyone in this county succeed’, continues Gilmore.

After going through the formation process, the Jackson County Economic Development Committee has begun conducting outreach to various community partners to ensure the organization is working with all of Jackson County in an effort to improve the economic health of the county, and the organization is currently taking applications as they seek to hire their first Executive Director.

‘We are looking for someone that is a real team player that is up to date on the latest technologies being used to improve our economic development efforts’, said Gilmore.

‘We need an energetic person that has a real passion to help us grow both as a county and as an organization.  We will find someone that has the ability to have a great relationship with our partners and be a tremendous point person for our efforts’.

Tiffany Garling, currently Executive Director of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and Secretary for the JCEDC, says ‘We realize we’ve got to be more holistic in our approach to economic development, and to do that we need to have people with a wide variety of backgrounds bringing their voices to the table’.

‘As the Executive Director for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce I’m glad we are taking this step forward, and I think this effort will result in a much closer relationship between the chamber, the tourism development council and our recognized economic development organization’.
