Governor Rick Scott Signs 38 Bills Into Law

 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Yesterday, Governor Rick Scott signed the following bills into law:

CS/HB 135

Motor Vehicle Registration Applications – This bill requires the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to include language on the motor vehicle registration application that allows a deaf or hard of hearing applicant to indicate voluntarily that he or she is deaf or hard of hearing.

 

HB 155

State Symbols – This bill removes the scheduled repeal of the state saltwater reptile and state horse designations and designates the Florida Cracker Cattle as the official state heritage cattle breed.

 

HB 193

Mortgage Brokering – This bill reduces burdensome mortgage business regulations on securities dealers, investment advisors, and associated persons under certain conditions.

 

HB 281

Incarcerated Parents – This bill ensures that parents who are incarcerated are included in case planning for their children who are in the child welfare system.

Minimum Officer Qualifications – This bill exempts those who have served in the special operations forces from certain officer training requirements.
