On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, approximately 3:35 pm the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to Ross Anthony Adams threatening his ex-girlfriend with a firearm on Express Rd. Adams then left the scene driving his black Ford F150 truck and was located at a residence on Carter Loop Rd at approximately 4:55 p.m.
Adams was inside the residence and several guns were located inside the truck. Adams then barricaded himself inside the residence in possession of a handgun. When deputies tried to convince Adams to put the gun down and walk out, Adams fired a shot telling deputies he was serious. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Swat Team.
Once the Swat Team arrived they attempted to reason with Adams to exit the house and turn himself in. Adams fired two more shots inside the house. After more attempts to convince Adams to exit the house, the Swat Team used less lethal weapons to enter the house and take Adams into custody. At approximately 10:30 p.m. Adams was taken into custody with no one being injured.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Bay County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
