Recently graduating the inaugural Drone Program class, it was soon apparent that there was a need for training in the skills of shooting, editing and processing aerial photos and video, and the inclusion of photo and video content produced by traditional digital cameras, or DSLR’s, made too much sense to overlook.
With the advent of more interest and inquiries, Florida Panhandle Technical College is now offering Photography 101, taught by adjunct instructors and scheduled to take advantage of non-traditional hours, allowing the public to participate outside of normal class hours- including evenings and weekends.
The inaugural class will be offered on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 5PM in the Learning Resource Center on the campus of Florida Panhandle Technical College in downtown Chipley, at a cost of $25, and will last approximately 3 hours.
Addressing how to take control of your camera in Manual Mode, shooting with purpose, utilizing ambient and artificial lighting, sports and high-speed photography, as well as drone photo and video, the curriculum addresses beginner and intermediate users, and includes best practices for photo and video.
Presented in a 3-hour session, at minimal cost, this inaugural Photography 101 class is a very basic overview of all these subjects, and advanced, in-depth classes will be subsequently scheduled following this initial session, based on interest and demand.
Subsequent sessions will offer in-depth looks at all these practices, along with the basics of processing your images in the Adobe suite programs, including Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro, with specialized sessions focusing on high-speed and sports photography, aerial images, studio and street photography, retouching, color correction and video editing.
