With a shotgun start at 8AM, the Annual Florida Panhandle Technical College Invitational Golf Tournament kicked off at Sunny Hills Golf Course on Friday, April 27, 2018, as seen in these contributed photos from the event.

Fielding a large number of teams, the event is organized and executed by the Florida Panhandle Technical College Foundation, which raises money to supply scholarships to deserving applicants wishing to attend classes at the over 35 degree and certification programs at Florida Panhandle Technical College in downtown Chipley, Florida.

‘We try to be a part of this event every year’, said Commissioner Todd Abbott at the event, ‘and the monies raised all go to a very worthy cause, providing educational opportunities to those who want to enter the workforce with well-paid jobs’.

‘Enough cannot be said about what the Technical College brings to this region’, echoed Tray Hawkins, ‘and anyone who is not aware of the offerings of the school should take the time to get a tour- you will be impressed’.

This year the field was deep and strong, but the winning combo of Washington County Commissioners Todd Abbott and Tray Hawkins, along with Nick Grande, proved to tough for the competition and the team went away with bragging rights until next years’ event.
