The Florida Highway Patrol 79-year-old Carolyn Banas of Marianna and 28-year-old Willie Kirkland, Jr. of Graceville were injured in an April 29th crash.
According to the FHP report, Banas was driving a 2003 Mercury north on CR 167 (Caverns Road), passing Lodge Drive, while Kirkland was traveling north on the roadway approaching Lodge Drive at the time of the accident
Banas apparently drifted over the center double yellow lines and traveled into the path of the 2004 Nissan being driven by Kirkland.
The front of the Mercury collided with the front left of the Nissan.
Both drivers were transported to Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama with serious injuries.
