Headstart program thanks Kiwanis Club for their support.
Tuesday’s meeting of the Chipley Kiwanis Club was led off with club president Brandon Lovering receiving a plaque from the Chipley Headstart program recognizing the club’s support for the program.
Lovering also took a few minutes to remind members of the upcoming Kiwanis Golf Tournament being held at the Sunny Hills Golf Club on June 8th. Tee off time is 8:30 a.m.
Recognition of Washington County’s public school teachers was next on the program in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
Washington County Superintendent of Schools Joe Taylor was introduced next and took a few moments to thank club members for paying tribute to all of the county’s educators for their devotion to educating the children of Washington County.
Receiving awards for their schools were:
- Kate Smith Elementary School – Lesa Burdeshaw
- Vernon Elementary School – Steve Griffin
- Chipley High School – Kyle Newsom
- Vernon High School – Brian Rivere
- Roulhac Middle School -Nancy Holley
- Vernon Middle School – Kim Register
- Florida Panhandle Technical College – Brian Lee
