This series of classes, offered at Florida Panhandle Technical College in downtown Chipley, Florida, designed to simplify photography and offer real-world solutions to the process of digital photography, has enjoyed full enrollment, and Beginner to Intermediate photographers who want to take control of their DSLR cameras, as well as Drone camera operators, have found this entry-level exploration of the digital process instructive and enlightening.

The three-hour Part 1 of ‘Photography 101’ has been held twice on the FPTC campus in downtown Chipley, Florida, and already over 40 local photographers from several counties have attended the initial entry-level classes.

The next class, Part 2 of ‘Photography 101’, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 5PM in the Learning Resource Center on the campus of Florida Panhandle Technical College, and attendees must have attended Part 1 of the series.

Presented at a cost of $25, and lasting approximately 3 hours, attendees for Part 2 should bring their camera, so they are prepared for the hands-on sessions outside and in the studio, working in Manual Mode and addressing the basics of lighting and exposure, composition, freezing high speed action and taking control of the camera in Manual Mode.

The initial ‘Part 1’ of the series concentrates on definitions, demystifying DSLR’s, lenses and other equipment, debunking myths and getting photographers comfortable with stepping outside of ‘Auto’ mode on their respective cameras and will again be offered on Thursday, May 10, for those who were unable to attend the first two sessions, with the series repeated as often as demand dictates.

Upcoming specialized classes include focus on Wedding and special event photography, Portrait photos, Landscape and Panorama photos, Drone photo and video production, Sports photography, Low-light photography, Color-correcting, Retouching and Video Editing and a special session titled “The Business End of Photography”, addressing photography as a business.

A class geared toward Real Estate professionals will be announced soon, allowing those persons a better understanding of photography in general, with an emphasis on wide-angle shooting, best lighting practices for small spaces, a drone photography overview as well as how to best process images for use in the Real Estate marketplace.

Florida Panhandle Technical College does not accept checks, so attendees will have to pay in cash on the night of class, and class size is limited, so pre-registration is encouraged by calling FPTC Student Services from 8AM-3PM at 850-638-1180.
