The Chipley Redevelopment Agency is pleased to announce five new grants available to business owners and residential property owners within the CRA boundaries:
Building Interior Improvement Program – $10,000
Funds provided through this program may be used for items such as interior walls, plumbing, HVAC, ADA compliance, security and fire suppression systems, flooring, drywall and electrical systems, including lighting. Owners receiving Interior Improvement Program grant funds must be in compliance with all existing city, state, and federal building codes and regulations and permitting requirements as a prerequisite to the receipt of funds.
Building Exterior Improvement Program – $12,000
Funds provided through this program may be used for comprehensive exterior renovations of office, manufacturing or industrial buildings. This includes significant repair and improvement of exterior building components such as improvements to any fixed exterior modules of the building structure including structural repair, concrete restoration, plumbing and electrical work, roof replacement or repair, impact-resistant windows and doors, demolition of exterior cosmetic features necessary to install new exterior cosmetic improvements, awnings or canopies over windows or walkways (without lettering or logo artwork) and other decorative improvements, including shutters, ADA compliance improvements, Fire Escapes, walls, repainting, repairs or similar cosmetic improvements; repointing/repair of brick and wall finishes. Owners receiving Building Exterior Improvement Program grant funds must be in compliance with all existing city, state, and federal building codes and regulations
and permitting requirements as a prerequisite to the receipt of funds.
Exterior Infrastructure Assistance Program – $3,000
On-site improvements to the streetscape, sidewalks, roadways, other pavements, curb and gutter, parking lots, signage, lighting, water, storm-water and sewer and drainage utilities. On-site improvements to landscapes and hardscapes such as, irrigation systems and meters, plant materials and mulch, hardscape plazas, fencing, and planters. Business owners and developers utilizing the Exterior Infrastructure Assistance Program grant funds must be in compliance with all existing city, state, and federal building codes and regulations and permitting requirements as a prerequisite to the receipt of funds.
Permit and Impact Fee Program for Business – $3,000
Categories that are eligible for development fee assistance include new businesses, expansion of existing businesses, and the change of use in existing buildings within CRA Boundaries. Development fees eligible through this program include but are not limited to Building Permit and Inspection Fees, Water and Sewer Connection Fees, Water and Sewer Impact Fees and planning and Zoning Fees (directly related to the projects that are approved by the City of Chipley, if applicable.) Eligible projects include office, industrial and manufacturing properties. Prioritization of projects will be based upon economic development objectives and community impacts.
Residential Improvement Grant Program – $1,500
It is the intent of this grant program to fund up to $1,500 per address of the applicant’s cost for permanent exterior cosmetic, structural improvements to a structure that will increase aesthetic appeal and/or structural integrity. All new construction not substantially contributing to the aesthetic improvement will be excluded from this program. The following are examples of eligible improvements:
Exterior Painting,
Replacing Windows or Doors,
Exterior Repairs to Primary Structure,
Front Porch Upgrading,
Replacing Shutters or Awnings,
Pouring a new Driveway,
Replacing a Roof,
Hurricane Protection (i.e., shutters, panels, etc.)
