FHP reports no injuries in I-10 fire in Jackson County …………..

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports no injuries in a Sunday afternoon fire on I-10 in Jackson County.

 

According to the FHP report, 32-year-old Alexander Cucuc of Key West Florida was driving a 2013 Freightliner east on I-10 around 4:20 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 127 when the rear of the trailer it was pulling caught fire.

 

The driver attempted to extinguish the fire with several fire extinguishers to no avail.

 

The Chipley Fire Department, Jackson County Fire Rescue, and the Alford Volunteer Fire Department were summoned to the scene and were able to extinguish the fires.

 

The incident caused a lane closure for approximately five hours while the fire was extinguished and the trailer removed.

 

There were no reported injuries.
