WESTVILLE, Fla. – The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a husband and wife have been charged with forging several checks belonging to a 71-year old Westville woman.
A deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office first responded to the complaint on June 22. At that time, the victim stated her son, David H. Ammons, 34, (l) and his wife, Natalie E. Ammons, 33, (r) were taking her checks without her permission and forging her signature.
The victim advised her signature had been forged on checks totaling nearly $500 and written to a store in Ponce de Leon.
She went on to tell an investigator that the suspects had previously been verbally abusive toward her and had also made threats of physical harm.
Both David Ammons and Natalie Ammons were arrested and charged with exploitation of the elderly, check fraud, and theft.
