Washington County Commissioners Todd Abbott and Tray Hawkins Pitch In To Help Tri-County Community Council and Toys For Tots

Amidst catcalls, laughter and shouts of ‘Bingo!’, the Tri-County Community Council raised awareness for their programs and got a jump-start on the upcoming ‘Toys For Tots’ effort on Friday evening at the Washington County Ag Center in Downtown Chipley, Florida.

Washington County Commissioner Todd Abbott spent the night helping Tri-County coordinator Scessalie Austin, calling numbers for the games and greeting attendees, along with Washington County Commission Chairman Tray Hawkins.

‘Sometimes you just have to take some time and have a little fun’, said Abbott on Friday evening, ‘and we decided that this was a great opportunity to help the community and enjoy a little down time, so we brought our entire family tonight to help with the ‘Toys For Tots’ program.

The evening’s proceeds went to help Tri-County Community Council, with the added benefit of bringing awareness to the need for assistance in helping local needy children have a Christmas.

‘This is a win-win tonight’, said Commissioner Tray Hawkins, ‘and just another example of how people in this community join together to make things happen’.

Real Florida Magazine was invited to attend the event and got a ‘behind the scenes’ look at all the festivities, as seen in these photos by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley.
