Kiwanis Club presents check to Dixie Majors World Series ………………..

This event is being held in Chipley starting Friday night and continuing through July 30th.

Keeping their community informed about activities taking place in the area, the Chipley Kiwanis Club on Tuesday updated its members about the upcoming Dixie Majors World Series being hosted in Chipley this weekend and presented a check to held defray the expenses of the event.

 

Guest speaker Andy Compton pointed out that the event will have positive economic impact on the local area, organizers have said teams and related family members will be coming into Washington County from across the Southeast.

 

Starting Friday night with a banquet and continuing through Wednesday, the World Series is expected to draw hundreds of visitors into the county and Compton said a variety of activities are planned, including a banquet Friday night at the Washington County Ag Center featuring Mark Smart from Troy University as guest speaker.

 

Games will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday on both Chipley High School fields and will continue through Wednesday.  Tournament passes are priced at $25.00 and per day admission is $7.00.
