On Saturday evening, July 28, 2018, at 6PM, the Possum Palace in Downtown Wausau, Florida kicked off the 49th Annual Wausau Possum Festival with the annual ‘Little Miss & Little Mister’ Pageant, this year with a ‘Country and Western’ theme, as seen in these photos from past event by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
Washington County Commissioner Todd Abbott attended the event, a sponsor of the festival for many years, and several Wausau Fire Department personnel in attendance took the opportunity to thank Abbott for his participation and commitment to the community.
The Wausau Possum Festival features a Pageant, a Parade, a Possum Auction, a Pancake Breakfast, the World-Famous ‘King & Queen Contest’ as well as food, entertainment, vendors and one of the most unique experiences in the world.
This year’s event occurs on Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5 in Historic Wausau, Florida, and Florida’s gubernatorial candidates are expected to attend,m as well as lots of other state, county and local political figures.
On Friday, August 3 enjoy the Wausau Possum King & Queen Contest at 6PM and on Saturday, August 4 enjoy all day entertainment, including a parade at 10AM.
