The employees and elected officials of Washington County, Florida celebrate one day each month in honor of all those with birthdays falling in that month, and on Friday, August 3, 2018, they celebrated the monthly birthday party at lunchtime in the Washington County Annex on South Boulevard in Downtown Chipley.
Washington County Commissioners Abbott, Hawkins and Kent, along with County Manager Jeff Massey joined a group of staffers for barbeque, cake and ice cream, as seen by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley.
Todd Abbott, Commissioner for District 4 in Washington County, stated, ‘We really are a big family here. We work hard, we accomplish a lot and we take time for the important parts of life, to celebrate each person who contributes, and for that I am proud and blessed’.
Tray Hawkins was one of those celebrating a birthday, and although he declined to say how many he was commemorating today, he echoed Abbott’s comments and said, ‘I am so proud of the team we have put together here in Washington County. From top to bottom, we should all be appreciative of the spirit and camaraderie we see here each and every day’.
