Students were lining up before the 2 p.m. start time to get back-to-school supplies.
With a special thanks to Chipley Councilwoman Tracy Andrews, 312 school back packs were distributed on Saturday to Washington County students preparing to start back to school in a few days.
Always interested in assisting her community, Andrews also thanked the following businesses, churches and community-mined individuals who assisted her in filling the backpacks with items they provided – Cooper Funeral Home, Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, Grant Tabernacle AME Church, Johnson Temple First Born Church, Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Yes Lord Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Ms. Deborah Brown, Ms. Renee Crews, Ms. Shirley Morris, Ms. Anglea Forward, Ms. Alesha Pridgen, Mr. Alphonso Daniel, Ms. Alfredia Coleman, Ms. Valerie Tolbert, Ms. Jane Reed, Mr. Carl Bullock, Ms. Partricia Plyes, and Ms. Alexis Johnson.
