Chipley Kiwanis Club members were encouraged by fellow Kiwanian Aubrey Sapp at Tuesday’s club meeting to become involved in the Washington County Guardian ad Litem program that helps children in need of protection.

Commenting on his personal involvement with the program, Sapp said children are removed from their homes on a daily basis due to a number of causes and conditions, but added they are usually grateful for the outside intervention that comes through the Guardian ad Litem program.

Stating, “It’s sad, but rewarding at the same time,”  Sapp said in some cases the children involved have gone through hell and the program is an opportunity to make things better for them.  He encouraged others to become involved.

“You get a a lot of self satisfaction helping the children,” said Sapp.
