Children injured in Jackson County crash …………..

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that two children were injured in a Sept. 14th afternoon crash on State Road 69 and Reddoch Road in Jackson County.

 

According to the FHP report,  Robert Daniel Harris, 32, of Grand Ridge, Florida, was northbound on State Road 69 at the time of the accident and traveled onto the east shoulder of the roadway.  The driver then apparently steered the 2002 Ford F-150 he was driving back onto the roadway, traveling accross the center divided line and onto the west shoulder of the roadway.  He then over corrected back to the right and the truck began to rotate clockwise traveling back onto the roadway and then back onto the east shoulder.  The truck then began to overturn and came to final rest on the east shuolder on its wheels facing north.

 

During the course of the vehicle overturning two young children passengers were thrown around inside the cab of the vehicle and received serious injuries.  They were transported to a medical facility in Alabama.

 

The driver was chagred with child neglect, no child restraint, and careless driving.

 

The Florida Higway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County EMS Fire Rescue.
