Ray Heimbach, age 80, of Marianna, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Jackson Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1938 in California to the late Raymond and Priscilla Heimbach. Ray served twenty-one years in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked and retired from Lanier Technical School in Oakwood, Georgia as a Physical Plant Manager. Ray moved to Marianna in 2001 where he enjoyed raising Angus cattle, growing hay, camping, and fishing.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lowell Heimbach and one sister, Patti Acunna.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Hazel Heimbach; children, Raymond Darryll Heimbach (Angie) of Alabaster, Alabama, Donna Dutton of Grayson, Georgia, Gayle Bradshaw of Grayson, Georgia, Leslie Martin (Troy) of Johns Creek, Georgia, Glenn Moore (Brenda) of Dunnellon, Florida, and Karen Glidewell (Bill) of Alabaster, Alabama. Ray is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Terry Broome officiating and full military honors.
