Downtown Chipley, Florida, if seen from the air at distance appears normal, as seen in these FAA Part 107-compliant aerial drone photos by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
It’s only when you zoom in a little and start to pay attention to downed trees, blue-tarped roofs, debris piles on the sides of the road and a general appearance of neglect that you see the effects of Hurricane Michael.
Help is definitely on the way, at least as far as debris removal, as regular garbage collection resumes in Washington County on Thursday, October 18, as does the removal of debris.
All tree limbs and vegetative debris should be left on the right of way, not in the road, and this detritus will be collected, also starting October 18.
White goods- refrigerators, washers and dryers, etc. should be piled separately, and these will be collected as well.
The relative normalcy of the City is a reflection of the spirit of it’s citizens, who did not waste a lot of time in starting cleaning up, rebuilding and moving forward following the storm.
