Panama City, FL – For a large number of GCSC students, the unexpected expenses associated with Hurricane Michael has put their continued education at risk. Many lost their textbooks, their jobs, or transportation – some lost everything and find themselves homeless now. While the leadership at the College is working tirelessly to help as many students as possible get back on track and finish their education, the GCSC Foundation is removing the financial obstacles that bar or inhibit access to education post-Hurricane Michael.

Mr. William C. Cramer, Jr., GCSC Foundation Advisor and former GCSC District Board of Trustees Chair, has announced the Foundation’s unprecedented donation to support students who have encountered unforeseen financial situations that prevent them from registering or attending classes at Gulf Coast State College. Funding needs include book recovery, transportation, food, daycare, short-term employee loans, and increased scholarship amounts. The St. Joe Company and the St. Joe Community Foundation will also be present for the announcement.

The announcement was made at the District Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, November 15.
