The motion to elect Cleveland as chair was made by Milton Brown and seconded by Vann Brock, then passed unanimously by the Board. Following that action Milton Brown was elected Vice Chairman in a motion by Vann Brock and seconded by Susan Roberts.
In other action at the recent School Board meeting the following actions were also taken:
- Voted to continue to hold the Board Meetings on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 5 p.m.
- Voted to accept the salary recommended by the Florida School Board Association – ($27,499) for fiscal year 2018-2019.
- Voted to retain Fuqua & Milton, P.A. as the School Baord’s attorney, contracted annually with the same retainer fee as stated in the RFP of $750 a month.
- Voted to have Susan Roberts be the Board’s Legislative Liaison and Will ‘Tonka’ Taylor named as the Alternate.
- Voted to have Susan Roberts as the (SSDCC) Small School District Council Consortium Board of Directors’ liaison.
