William Christopher Connor, age 65, of Marianna, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. He was born on August 15, 1953.

Chris Connor was the son of Faye Luke Connor & Kenneth Bruce Connor. He graduated from Marianna High School in 1971 and Auburn University, where he received a B.S. in Engineering. While at Auburn, Mr. Connor was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He was the Maintenance Engineer at the Florida Department of Transportation in Marianna for many years. Mr. Connor enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a founding committee member of Jackson County Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation, as well as a true conservationist. Mr. Connor’s fondness of Beacon Hill beach began in childhood, and he enjoyed spending time there as frequently as possible. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and served as Senior Warden.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Catherine Brooks Connor, daughters Courtney Maraziti (Adam), Kristen Connor, and his son, Joseph Yauger Whealdon III, Esq. (Katharine).

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Marianna. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Danny Swearingen, Don Nowell, Warren Melzer, Robert Reiff, Aaron Granberry, Alan T. Bush, and Robbie French.The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the parish hall.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to the wonderful staff at Covenant Hospice, whose compassion and caring blessed them in numerous ways.
