New Business opens in Washington County …………………..

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at King’s Dowry Boutique in Vernon Tuesday morning and added a fun shopping experience for everyone looking for a “good buy”.

Located on the southeast corner of the Highway 277 and 79 intersection in Vernon, this delightful store handles gently used items, including toys, clothes, decorator items and holiday decorations at really good prices.

 

Open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., shoppers are welcome to come in browse to their hear’s content and enjoy their shopping experience.

 

The proceeds from sales at King’s Dowry Boutique go to the Full Circle Teaching Center Women’s Ministry (a non-profit (501c3) organization providing programs and services geared to create a positivie impact in the local communities.  

 

Vicki Howard, one of the founders of the organization, says their vision is to have a facility to house women and their children that are broken and need a place to live.  They want to provide support to provide a safe environment for women who have no palce to go and need a safe haven.

 

Their mission goals include:

 *  Christian environment for women to confront, identify and conquer life issues.

 *  Provide assistance and Christian counseling programs for victims of domestic abuse.

 *  Provide food banks, hunger prevention and crisis center for women in need.

 *  Provide humanitarian and volunteer aid to the poor in the local community.

 *  Provide living assistance, job placement opportunities, and short-term employment for women recently released from Federal, State, and         local prisons.

 *  Provide life training classes (checkbook management, family budget management, and life skills).

 

Their Motto:  You can’t conquer what you will not confront, and you can’t confront what you don’t identify.
