Due to economic hardships caused to residents by Hurricane Michael, the City of Vernon decided last month to forego the normal signup fees for the 2019 Basketball season, normally priced at $30 per participant, and all eligible players will now be able to play at no cost.
Vernon Recreation Director Brent Gibson recently announced that there is a need for additional basketball coaches for the 6-14 age brackets.
