Meeting Jan. 3rd to start the new year, the Washington County Friends of the Library said they wanted to garner new members from the public as well as elected officials.
Staunch supporters of the Washington County Library System, members of the Friends work hard to support both educational and cultural programs to benefit county residents.
The Friends’ meetings are held on the first Thursday of January, February, March, April and May, and after a break for the summer months the meetings also run in September, October and November.
The monthly meetings include lunch (everyone brings their own lunch), a business meeting and usually a special speaker.
Annual membership due are $10.00 for Individuals; $25.00 for Sponsors; $50.00 for Benefactors and $100.00 for Patrons.

Washington County author Gwen Collins will be the guest speaker at the February 7th meeting of the Friends of the Library – plan to attend.
