Family Dollar Distribution Center in Marianna, Florida recently conducted a survey of regional jobs, determining average pay scales and benefit structures, in preparation for achieving competitiveness in the job market and parity with similar workplaces.
Family Dollar found, in that review of the market of greater Marianna, Florida, that they were not as competitive as they want to be, and realized that the situation was impacting their ability to attract and retain associates.
On February 11, 2019, Family Dollar Distributions Center announced that they are providing market-based wage increases to the hourly (non-exempt) associates, in order to be more competitive in the local market.
These wage increases, a response to a competitive position within the entry level, middle, and high end of the market, are based on the associate’s pay relative to the market.
The Family Dollar Distribution Center average starting wage is now $13, with Forklift Operators earning a starting wage of $14 per hour.
While many hourly Associates will get an increase, some associates will not, and everyone’s increase amount will differ depending on how their current base wage aligns with the market and their role.
Family Dollar Distribution Center management staff is meeting with associates over the next few days to communicate the new base wage and shift differential amounts.
All changes will be effective on February 10, 2019, and will be reflected on the paycheck dated March 1, 2019, and Dollar Tree and Family Dollar are committed to offering fair, market competitive wages and excellent benefits.
Annually, Family Dollar goes through the same process, evaluating local wage markets to make sure they stand in a competitive position, but does not guarantee an increase for the Distribution Center every year.
Family Dollar is also very proud of the Compensation Package offered to Associates, and Dollar Tree and Family Dollar offer unique benefit programs that many competitor employers do not.
These incentives and benefits include:
· Paid Health Insurance for Associates – (Valued at approximately $2 per hour)
· Incentive Pay Opportunity
