Florida CFO and State Fire Marshall Jimmy Patronis presented the Firefighter Safety Equipment grant check to the Wausau Town Council and Fire Chief Sam Rudd.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis joined local officials and fire department personnel in Wausau on Friday to present firefighter grant funds to the community.
Patronis praised all of the firefighters throughout the state for the service they give their communities and said he was pleased grant funding could be provided to help keep those firefighters safe.
Sam Rudd said the grant funding will be used to purchase five self-contained air packs for the Wausau Fire Department.Rudd took Patronis out to see the fire department facilities currently used by the Wausau firefighters. Julius Halas, with the Fire Marshall’s Office explained the background of the grant funding available from the State of Florida.
