Opinions varied as to the potential impact of Hurricane Michael on the attendance for the 2019 St. Andrews Mardi Gras, but at the end of the weekend the crowds were significantly smaller than in past years.
The event took place on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Historic St. Andrews in Panama City, Florida, and the event enjoyed some of the best weather the region has experienced in quite some time as the very successful event finished.
Estimates ranged from 20,000 to 25,000 attendees but at the end of the day, all could agree that there were still a lot of people in Historic St. Andrews for the 22nd anniversary of the event, as seen in these festival photos taken on Saturday, February 23, by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
‘Real Florida Magazine’ was invited to experience the event from a ‘behind-the-scenes’ vantage point, documenting the set up for the event, including security, vendor, crowd control and all that goes into this very large event.
Over 7,000 photos were taken at the 2019 St. Andrews Mardi Gras, including the two parades, and a complete gallery can be seen on Facebook at Real Florida Magazine.
