2019-2020 AmeriCorps Formula Funding
Request for Proposals

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Volunteer Florida, the organization responsible for administering AmeriCorps programs throughout Florida, is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 AmeriCorps formula funding request for proposals (RFP). Proposals are due April 12, 2019.

Each year, more than 80,000 individuals across the United States meet critical community-wide needs by serving with AmeriCorps. With funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service (which is distributed by Volunteer Florida), AmeriCorps members dedicate a year of their life to intensive service in Florida in exchange for a small living stipend and education award. The experience also provides them with valuable on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.

“AmeriCorps members give me hope for the future of Florida,” said Clay Ingram, CEO of Volunteer Florida. “By serving today, they’re preparing to become confident and effective leaders tomorrow.”

AmeriCorps members serve in many different capacities, including educational support, public land conservation and disaster response. Members can help at-risk students learn to read, remove invasive species from state parks or help with sheltering after disasters, like hurricanes. They also mobilize community volunteers and strengthen the organizations where they serve.

“Everyone can benefit from AmeriCorps,” said Ingram. “When the members, host organizations and local communities work together, they all become stronger, ensuring that Florida will continue to succeed.”

Technical assistance conference calls, offering more information about the RFP, are scheduled for March 7, 2019 at 10 am (ET) (continuation applicants only) and 2 pm (ET) (new/recompete applicants). A Budget 101 webinar will also be offered on March 14, 2019 at 10 am (ET). To register for a call or the webinar, please click here.
