Chipley Kiwanis Club member Dell Corbin presented a check for $250 to ‘Relay for Life Washington/Holmes’ representative Kathy Foster at the April 2nd meeting of the Chipley Kiwanis Club.
Kiwanians made it clear they are in full support of the April 12th American Cancer Society event being held at Shivers Park in Chipley.
Brian Lee, Florida Panhandle Technical College, presented the day’s program focusing on the varied educational programs offered at the college.
Lee updated club memers on wht is happening at the college, pointing out that fortunately the facility received minimal damage from Hurricane Michael, and while enrollment did drop following the storm, enrollment is now rebounding.
Lee also said FPTC is now regularly being contacted by area business people in their search for trained employees.
Pointing out that everyone needs a useable skill to earn a living throughout their lifetime, Lee said the Technical College has 41 programs to help students chart a course for their lives.
