Try Elephant GarlicWant to try something fun? Try Elephant garlic in your garden.

This relative of our true garlic and leeks form large cloves that can be planted in the fall.

Plant about 3 inches deep (top of clove just below the soil surface) in well-amended soil that also drains well. Space cloves about 12 inches apart.

This type of garlic will form a flower head and be ready for harvest in about 6-8 months.

The taste is milder than true garlic.
