At their April meeting members of the Washington County Historical Society announced they will be dedicating a historical marker at 3810 Holmes Valley Road in Washington County on May 3rd to mark the importance of the area in the history of the county.
The Historical Society has been working with the Washington County Board of County Commissioners to get the special marker put in place and Historical Society President Dorothy Odom announced the sign will be installed prior to the May 3rd dedication.
Odom also announced that the Historical Society is making arrangement to have an ADA compliant ramp placed on the caboose displayed by the museum in Chipley.
The Washington County Historical Society is usually open to the public every Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the public is encouraged to stop by and look at the various displays there.
