Chipola’s Ally Clegg is the NJCAA Region 8 Softball Player of the Week. The sophomore third baseman from Leesburg, Ga., batted .750 (9-for-12) with 11 runs scored, one double, four home runs, 11 RBIs and three stolen bases in four games during the voting period. She hit safely in each game as the Indians posted a 3-1 week and clinched the Panhandle Conference Championship. Clegg was 6-for-7 with four home runs and nine RBI in a doubleheader against Tallahassee.
The Chipola softball team hosts Gulf Coast Wednesday, April 10, in a single game at 4 p.m. The team travels to Tallahassee April 12 before returning home to host Northwest in the final game of the regular season, Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m.
