TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis announced the activation of a Strike Team which has been sent to Louisiana to assist in the investigation of three church fires which occurred in just 10 days. This team is comprised of seven investigators from CFO Patronis’ Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations including an experienced specialist in photo enhancement.
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “In the wake of three church fires in only 10 days in St. Landry Parish, my office offered Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browning assistance to investigate this alarming series of potential crimes. My skilled fire investigators have been deployed to aid our neighbors in Louisiana with this disturbing string of church fires. We are determined to help find answers.”
About CFO Jimmy Patronis’ Fire Investigation Strike Team
Each Strike Team member works for CFO Patronis’ Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations—a law enforcement branch of his Division of Investigative and Forensic Services that is responsible for conducting fire, arson, and explosives investigations statewide in Florida.
The Strike Team is comprised of detectives and supervisors from Orlando, Jacksonville, Ocala, Tallahassee, Panama City, and Pensacola.
