Mr. Charlie Jones, 75, of Southport, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his home. He was born in Wilson, NC and was a longtime resident of Bay County. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a mechanic by trade.
Mr. Jones is preceded in death by one son, Timothy Craig Jones; two sisters, Sandra Lucas and Judy Viverettte.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lee Jones of Southport; two sons, Chris Jones (Bonnie) and Charlie Jones (LeeAnna) both of Southport; one daughter, Lori Cox (Jerome) of Cedar Grove; brother-in-law, Charles Viverette of Wilson, NC; four grandchildren, Jessica Wilson (Jon), Maglissa Jones (Bobby Enfinger), Christopher Jones and Carissa Jones; three great-grandchildren, Jaiden Wilson, Jake Wilson and Cameron Enfinger; five 4-legged companions, Bully, Yota, Miss Puss, Smoky and Simba.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Southport First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wilford Carter and Rev. Roger Hagan officiating.
Interment will follow at Gap Pond Cemetery in Washington County. The following gentlemen will serve as pall bearers: Steve Richardson, H.E. Ellis, Wayne Bradley, Jimmy Kemp, Jimmy Glass, Jerry McKinney, Eddie Curti, Bucky Dillard, Bill Sizemore, Ronnie Couch, Wayne Earl Godwin, Tony Powell, Larry Jenks, Dale Porter, Noah Dillard, Mercer Bullock and Floyd Sunday.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, April 19, 2019 at Southerland Event Center in Lynn Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Charlie Jones.
