The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that 45-year-old Charles Coulliette, of Marianna, Florida, died as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by 21-year-old Kody Gilbert, also of Marianna, around 5:30 a.m. Friday morning on CR 280 in Jackson County.
According to the FHP report, Coulliette was walking westbound on Rocky Creek Road, partially in the westbound travel lane and partially on the north shoulder of the roadway, at the time of the incident.
Gilbert was driving westbound on the roadway and the right front corner of the Dodge Charger he was driving struck Coulliette, resulting in fatal injuries to the pedestrian.
No other injuries were reported.
