Meeting with CRA grant funding recipient Marsha Hayes Thursday afternoon, members of the Chipley Redevelopment Agency Board apologized for the misunderstanding that has arisen regarding the funding for which Hayes is eligible, and Board member Ted Everett said he would meet with the Chipley City Council to explain the problem and options for possibly giving Hayes some additional funding for work being done at 1282 Church Avenue.

In separate action, the board approved an Exterior Infrastructure Grant for Ashlynn Marquez for property at 837 Main Street.

The Board also took the following actions:

  • Approved purchasing Christmas lights for the downtown areas in the amount of $19,450. In a letter of request, City Administrator Dan Miner said the existing lights are over 10 years old and have been problematic during the last several seasons. He added that the replacement lights are commercial grade that should provide many years of bautification to the downtown area during the Christmas season.
  • Approved accepting the bid from High Plumbing Inc. to re-pipe water service for The Parlor/CRA Alleyway project and run new water piping.
  • Discussing removal of a sign on a building on Main Street, CRA Board Member Gina Pippin offered to talk with several local companies that have bucket trucks that might be used to take down the sign.
