  Port Panama City (Foreign Trade Zone 65) receives $10 million in Triumph Funds to support a $63 million expansion project. The improvements include building new warehousing space and a new bulkhead, dredging of the channel, extension of rail services and rail facilities, and more. Read More>> 

These improvements will support new and existing companies at the Port, such as Berg Steel Pipe, Oceaneering and Enviva – a wood pellet manufacturer in rural Cottondale, FL that ships product on Bay Line rail to Port Panama City, which is then transported across the globe. Watch the video here>>

  Public-Private Partnerships are developing the Manufacturing workforce in Northwest Florida   Last week at the Gulf Power Symposium, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis laid out a bold goal for Florida to be #1 in workforce education by 2030. Northwest Florida has many public-private partnerships to help the state achieve this goal. For example, Rex Lumber partners with Chipola College to develop curriculum for their Engineering Technology program and provides scholarships to students to participate in the program. In addition to Rex Lumber, many local and national companies, such as Georgia Pacific and Michelin Tires, immediately hire graduates.
