PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Yesterday Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis joined Senator Rick Scott at Tyndall Air Force Base to demand immediate action by Congress to pass a recovery bill for devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in October 2018.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “Senator Scott has worked non-stop for recovery in the Panhandle. We are now over 200 days since landfall and Northwest Florida still has yet to see a dime in recovery funding from Congress.

Hurricane Michael was a massive and devastating Category 5 storm, and I know Senator Scott understands just how much these communities are still struggling. “Recovery bills for other hurricanes like Katrina and Sandy took a fraction of the time to pass. It is time to stop with the political games and pass this legislation immediately. With the damage to Tyndall Air Force base, this is not only a Northwest Florida issue, but a national security issue. I appreciate members of Florida’s delegation such as Senator Marco Rubio, Congressman Neal Dunn, Congressman Matt Gaetz and Congressman Al Lawson working to bring attention to this area. Together, we will ensure the Panhandle is not forgotten.”
