This week’s final meeting to discuss the 2019 Relay For Life Washington Holmes event held earlier this year hit a low note when American Cancer Society representative Danielle Sowell said she would moving out of the area.
This year’s event raised more than $55,000
However, everything else about the get together hit high notes as team members and supporters applauded recipients of the varied awards presented during the gathering.
In her ‘thank you’ letter, Event Leader Jody Bush expressed her thanks to the members of the 17 teams in this year’s event for their dedication to raising funds for the American Cancer Society.
“We’ve also been blessed to see new teams come on board with the passion and drive that we all must have to finish this fight. Even though across the states many think that Relay For Life is an event of the past, it is still the biggest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.”
